Stories Untold: Company Couture
Uniforms- a love-hate saga as old as time. Not all mills require them but when they do they can be a bit of a drag. What is it about them that provokes such an “it’s complicated” relationship status? According to some creatives, it’s not actually about the uniforms as much as it is about the mindset.
“At first, it was just the supervisors or managers in the colored polos,” said Indira, the creative team manager. “Then everyone was matching! Our designers are not thrilled. The polos are too corporate.” So therein lies the problem, and perhaps the solution as well. What started as a one-size-fits-all decision has become a creative challenge for this team.
“I told them we could customize our shirts,” she continued. “So, we’re exploring what we can do to really stand out.” As we know, creativity often thrives under pressure. Maybe uniforms were just the thing to unite a motley crew of production artists. Way to stick it to the man.
Meanwhile, the 4CP team is gunning for striped soccer jerseys with the company logo. It hasn’t been approved- yet.
